1st Place Main Item
Tres Hermanas’s Fried Chicken Tacos
Tres Hermanas’s Fried Chicken Tacos | Kaitlyn Hart, EastIdahoNews.com
Jordan: 15/15. I simply adore tacos. They were excellent. They had a complete setup with guacamole and other things, and I thought it was a nice way to eat chicken tacos. It’s good that you can dip that and still eat it without becoming dirty. It is contained.
Annie: 13/15. They were simply GOOD. They were fried and crispy, making it a traditional fair dish. They were gorgeous and loaded with cheese and sauce.
Trey: 12/15. For me, the presentation was unquestionably successful. When they were released, they looked fantastic. Even though I had never tried a deep-fried taco before, it was an interesting experience. Additionally, the green sauce in which they were dipped was excellent.
Kaitlyn: 12/15. Like Trey, I think the fried chicken tacos were the highlight of the presentation. I believe this was a pretty wise choice because it comes with a ton of toppings and condiments.
1st Place Drink
Limeade with strawberries and cucumbers from Fair Land Lemonade and Treat Parlor
Fair Land Lemonade and Treat Parlor’s Strawberry Cucumber Limeade | Kaitlyn Hart, EastIdahoNews.com
Jordan: 14/15. I adored it. My family adores these large lemonades, therefore I think it’s just a fair staple. It was made more refreshing by the cucumber, which wasn’t overbearing.
Annie: 13/15 It’s excellent. It’s the ideal balance between being too sweet and not too sour. It has a distinct tang from the cucumber. It’s rather reviving without being strange.
Trey: 13/15. Because I’m frugal and dislike spending more money than necessary, I enjoy the large portion. Like a lemonade should be, it was incredibly refreshing without being too tart. I believe that the refreshing feeling was much enhanced by the aftertaste of cucumber.
Kaitlyn: 14/15. I was thrilled to see this one on the table because I’m a major fan of lemonade. I really liked the unique flavor that the cucumber gave, and it was sweet but still slightly lemony.
1st Place Dessert
Chocolate Plunge’s Dubai Chocolate Strawberries
Chocolate Plunge’s Dubai Chocolate Strawberries | Kaitlyn Hart, EastIdahoNews.com
Jordan: 15/15. It was excellent, in my opinion. One of my favorite places in Rexburg is Chocolate Plunge, which I adore. The combination of chocolate and pistachios is pleasing. I love it, although I wasn’t sure what I would think of it.
Annie: 13/15. It’s good. I love chocolate and nuts, and the little crispies on top are simply what make it so delicious. However, my friend doesn’t like pistachios, so it’s whatever you prefer.
Trey: 13.5/15. In particular, I enjoy Dubai chocolate a lot. Even if the strawberries were included, the Dubai chocolate still won. I’m not a huge fan of fruits. I also enjoyed the crispy topping.
Kaitlyn: 14/15. Delectable. Delicious. Show-stopping. The ball’s absolute belle.
Honorable Mention
Bites of Steak at the Cactus Shack
The Cactus Shack’s Steak Bites | Kaitlyn Hart, EastIdahoNews.com
Jordan: 14/15. They were well seasoned, juicy, and soft. The 14 is because I simply don’t like shrimp.
Trey: 14/15. I believed them to be murderers. The steak itself was well seasoned, and the tan sauce was absolutely fantastic to dip the steak into, the shrimp, and the batter was nice and crispy. A lot of times with fish, the batter gets soggy. There was a delicious butter and Parmesan topping on top of the fries.
Annie:(We failed to ask her for a quote before we parted ways, but in the live video from the fair, she nodded animatedly when she tried them!!)
Kaitlyn: 15/15. This one might have been my favorite. I love a good steak, and this was cooked, seasoned, and served perfectly. The Parmesan fries were hot, salty, and crispy, and I couldn t have asked for more.
Thank you to everyone at the Madison County Fairgrounds for letting us try all the incredible fair food, and congratulations to the winners!
