LEWISTON, IDLC State Men’s Cross Country/Track and Field added Michael Colvin, Bryan Kinene, Micah Fox, and Chrisitan Lybyer to strengthen its roster for the 2025–2026 academic year. This autumn, Lybyer will join the cross-country squad, and Fox and Colvin will provide depth in track and field.

Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston High School/Christian Lybyer

Lybyer, a native of Lewiston, will provide the Warrior Cross Country squad more depth. Along his former colleague Kobe Wessels, he is a former Bengal. Additionally, Lybyer was a standout soccer player who helped LHS earn a spot at State for the first time in the program’s history. Lybyer was elected the Bengal of the Year for senior golf and played on the golf team as well.

Coach Mike Collins stated, “I am thrilled to see Christian join our program; I have known him for a long time.” He picks things up quickly and is thrilled to be a part of the team. In addition to making significant progress during the year, his infectious drive to learn and improve will also have a favorable impact on his colleagues’ performances.

Colvin, Michael Walla Walla High School in Walla Walla, Washington

After the 2023–24 season, Colvin, who attended Walla Walla High School for preparation, was chosen as the Most Improved. Sprinter Colvin had times of 11.20 for the 100-meter run, 23.50 for the 200-meter run, and 56.21 for the 400-meter run. At State, the team finished first in the 4×100-meter relay.

One of two young men from Walla Walla who follow Cameron Carrara, who visited last year and made amazing progress as a multi-athlete, Collins said. Both men come highly recommended by their coach. This year, we will have a really deep sprint group, and Michael has a lot of potential in the short sprints. His upbeat demeanor and team mentality will be a perfect fit with the goals of our program.

Micah Fox/Camas County High School, Fairfield, Idaho

Fox was a standout thrower at Camas County High School, where he trained. With a score of 47 10.5 in the shot put, he broke the school record. His discus score of 127 is his career-highest. Fox helped the squad win a conference championship and took home the Sawtooth Conference titles in the shot throw and discus. At the district competition, he finished third in the shot put and was named to the all-conference team.

Collins said, “We feel fortunate that Micah was looking here because he wasn’t sure he wanted to throw in college until he had a breakout year in the shot put and started looking at opportunities.” He is a fantastic teammate, highly driven to improve, and a strong performer, all of which are characteristics of the type of athlete we are seeking. I’m eager to watch his growth as he gets used to the larger tools.

Kinene Bryan Walla Walla High School in Walla Walla, Washington

Colvin’s Walla Walla High School teammate Kinene will give the Warriors more depth in their jumps. His career-best long jump scores are 21 2; his triple jump scores are 43 19.75; and his high jump scores are 5 8. In school history, he is ranked ninth in the triple jump and eighteenth in the long jump. In 2025, Kinene was chosen as the team’s MVP.

Collins described the second of our new Walla Walla athletes as a jump specialist. Given that his triple jump scores are comparable to those of Trent Johnson upon graduating from high school, we anticipate that he will follow a similar trajectory of growth and, perhaps more importantly, benefit from having TJ as a teammate to learn from. He has been true delight to get to know and a pleasure to visit. With his charisma and athleticism, he will surely improve the team.
