IDAHO GOES DOWN A test date for the new police officers being hired by the Idaho Falls Police Department is in a few weeks.

According to Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson, being a police officer offers you the chance to positively impact people’s lives and the globe. Police officers in Idaho Falls have the opportunity to serve in a wonderful town and have a fulfilling career, making a difference every day.

The written and physical fitness test will be administered by IFPD at the Idaho Falls Police Complex on July 26. A written test measuring skills and talents as well as the behavioral traits necessary to succeed as a police officer will be given to candidates first thing in the morning. Following lunch, candidates will take part in a physical fitness test that consists of a 1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, a 300-meter sprint, and a vertical jump. Online registration is available for exam takers. Additionally, candidates must apply online at the City of Idaho Falls.

The next stages of the employment process will be reached by candidates who pass the written and physical fitness exams. These include of medical and psychiatric assessments, oral interviews, and a comprehensive background investigation. Candidates that meet the requirements must be citizens of the United States, be at least 21 years old, have a driver’s license, and have completed high school or earned a GED.

IFPD will hold a Test Prep and Intro meeting at the Idaho Falls Police Complex on July 12 from 8 to 10 a.m. Anyone interested in taking the Idaho Falls Police Officer test is welcome to come on July 26th or soon after.
