Utah’s Whiterocks (KSL.com) A Ute Indian Tribe member has been taken into custody on suspicion of killing another guy by piercing his neck with an arrow.

In the Whiterocks hamlet on the Uinta and Ouray Indian Reservation, a Vernal man was discovered Thursday at approximately 10:35 a.m. in a moving car with an arrow embedded in his neck, the FBI said in a statement.

In the Whiterocks neighborhood, close to the pavilion, was a black GMC 1500 pickup. The car was in the field, about ten feet from the road, on the east side of it. The car was still moving, and it seemed like it was in drive. According to the charging paperwork, a guy was slouched in the driver’s seat with an arrow stuck in his neck, just above the collar bone.

The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office claimed that deputies discovered blood on the road in front of the house where the native male was sitting on the porch almost an hour after discovering the victim. According to the charges, this man was shouting at police while holding his hand in the air.

Casper Leroy Poowegup Reed was placed under tribal guard. He said things like, “I came and told me that I killed my son,” and “The victim approached me like a serial killer in army clothes,” when he was taken into custody. The indictments claim that Reed did this multiple times. Is he dead? inquired Reed when he was taken into jail.

According to the accusations, a bow and arrow were discovered just inside the entryway.

In a follow-up police interview, Reed said that a white man had approached his house. When Reed noticed him, the man was standing on the road. With his bow and arrow in hand, Reed rushed inside and said that the white man was informing him that he had slain his kid. According to Reed, the white man in his green army uniform appeared to be a serial killer. According to the accusations, Reed made this statement multiple times, and his son’s name altered a little. Reed claimed that he used his bow and arrow to shoot the white man while he was on his land.

According to the charging paperwork, it was later discovered that Reed’s son was okay and had been with Reed’s mother.

According to the FBI, Reed has been charged with second-degree murder while in Indian Country and has a federal arrest warrant issued for him.

There was no information made public regarding the deceased man.
