The U.S. Department of Education launches nationwide tour

Washington, D.C. As part of its ongoing efforts to abolish the agency and return authority to the states, the Department of Education began a nationwide tour this month.

In an attempt to fulfill President Trump’s objective of destroying the U.S. Department of Education, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announced the Returning Education to the States Tour.

Secretary McMahon will go to all 50 states as part of the education tour to meet with schools, hear from educators and kids about education and how to enhance learning outcomes, and make sure families are free to select the best course of study for their child’s requirements.

This week, McMahon’s visits to Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee marked the official start of the tour.

“Learning best practices from each state is part of the vital mission that President Trump entrusted me with, which is to return education to the states,” stated U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. I will travel throughout our wonderful country as students return to school in order to visit classrooms, hear from local voices, and highlight the amazing work that is taking on at the local level.

“By ultimately granting it to the states where education is closest to the child and allowing states to enact regulations, Trump wants all children to have access to quality education,” McMahon said.

Since parents are with their children, let’s put them at the heart of that. They should be able to choose schools where their children can thrive because they know what’s best for them, McMahonsaid.A bad school shouldn’t imprison any child.

Along with a number of lawmakers and education officials, McMahon visited a school in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday.

“I want to make sure that states can have best practices to look at as I’m starting Returning Education to the States,” she stated.
