Reed’s Dairy on Broadway Avenue is celebrating Alan Reed’s 70th birthday by giving away free cake and ice cream from 7 p.m. till it’s gone.

When a production building burned to the ground last year, the company suffered a severe loss. Cheese, ice cream, and other goods were produced at the plant, which had been owned by the Reed family for four generations.
We have been humbled by the community’s support. “The community’s support over the past year has been the best birthday gift I’ve ever received,” Reed told EastIdahoNews.com. Without the residents of Idaho Falls, we could not have accomplished this. For most individuals, the community in which we live is unthinkable.
Reed is working on a new production facility and believes it will be finished by the time of the holidays.
Since 1955, Reed’s has operated a milk delivery service. While his two brothers, LeRoy and Dave, oversaw the farming portion of their company, Larry Reed founded and ran the dairy. The operation is currently operated by Alan, LeRoy’s son.
