The County of Idaho Early Tuesday morning, a woman who claimed to have been drugged and abducted was safely retrieved, and a male is currently being held.
According to a news release from Idaho State Police, the incident started at around 4 a.m. when the woman went into a business in Idaho County, told a cashier she needed assistance, and then hurried out of the area.
After authorities were notified, the woman was promptly found by Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputies and an Idaho State Police officer who was in the area.
According to the news release, the trooper spoke with the woman and gave her tips on how to get out of what she regarded as a perilous position. The woman said during the preliminary investigation that a male suspect who lives nearby had drugged her and driven her from Oregon. She said she had been detained against her will at a local home.
The suspected kidnapper was found by the ISP SWAT squad, and he was apprehended without incident. The victim is safe today, according to officials, and the inquiry is still ongoing.

According to the police, they are keeping further information secret in order to preserve the integrity of the inquiry.
