RENTON, WA – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a triple homicide that occurred Saturday evening in Renton, according to the Renton Police Department.

The shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 1400 block of Hillcrest Lane NE. Officers responding to the scene discovered three females—ages 46, 28, and 9—fatally shot inside an apartment.

Following an extensive investigation that included witness interviews, forensic analysis, and search warrants executed on the victim’s apartment and the suspect’s electronics, detectives arrested a 46-year-old man in South Seattle at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police have confirmed that the suspect was in a dating relationship with the 46-year-old victim and have identified the case as a domestic violence-related incident. Investigators have not yet determined what led to the shooting, but they confirmed the suspect had been spending time with the victims earlier that evening.

Two other individuals were present in the apartment during the shooting but were able to escape and are safe. They provided key information that assisted detectives in identifying the suspect.

Authorities said they chose not to release the suspect’s name, photo, or description during the search because the incident was believed to be targeted and not a threat to the general public. They also cited concerns that releasing the suspect’s identity prematurely could have led to him fleeing, hiding, or destroying evidence.

The investigation remains ongoing.
