SPENCER According to Clark County Sheriff Mark McClure, a fast-moving brush fire that began Sunday night close to milepost 179.5 on Interstate 15 has been completely put out.
A truck and camper caught fire about 5:30 p.m., and the fire eventually burned both to the ground. The fire swiftly extended to the interstate’s west side, eventually engulfing about 100 acres of land.

Responders from the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, the Rangeland Fire Protection Association, and the fire departments of West Jefferson, Hamer, and Dubois collaborated to fight the fire.
According to McClure, personnel were given the upper hand when a containment line between I-15 and Old Highway 91 was built using bulldozers.
Officials said the fire was around 80% contained by 7:15 p.m. and was entirely out by 8:30 p.m. that evening.
McClure informed EastIdahoNews.com that the fire was essentially extinguished. The men were excellent at keeping it under control. No one was hurt, and no houses or buildings were damaged.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine what caused the vehicle-camper fire.
