Washington’s Chelan CountyAccording to a July 25 statement from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, the hunt for triple homicide suspect Travis Decker has been lowered after almost two months of intense efforts. The criminal investigation is still ongoing, even if the active search footprint has shrunk as a result of a drop in reliable leads.
Decker has not been seen since he is suspected of killing his three young daughters on June 1 near the Rock Island campground. Authorities said there is still no proof that Decker is alive or dead after a thorough search that involved dozens of law enforcement agencies, rapid water teams, helicopter support, and specialized K9 units.
Investigators have focused their efforts on any evidence in the Blewett Pass region north of Mineral Springs campground. Officials, however, stated that the data acquired there was inconclusive and could not yet be directly linked to Decker.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution as summer outdoor activities and bear hunting season resume. In the wilderness regions of Chelan and Kittitas Counties, outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to phone 911 to report any strange objects, campsites, or potential sightings. For follow-up, officials advise registering the GPS location and even taking pictures of the area if it is safe to do so.
A reward of up to $20,000 is still being offered by the US Marshals Service for information that immediately results in Decker’s arrest. He is regarded as dangerous and armed. It is recommended that anyone who spots Decker phone 911 right away and avoid approaching him.
