The trailer for The Runarounds, a coming-of-age music drama series from the makers of the popular series Outer Banks, has been released by Prime Video.
According to an official summary, The Runarounds centers on a group of recent Wilmington, North Carolina, high school graduates who, inspired by their mutual love of music and nearly unattainable goal of being famous, band together to form a rock band the summer following graduation. They run across serious problems as they try to make it to the major levels.
After Pate enlisted Outer Banks performers Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline to post a call for young musicians on social media to star in a new series, the Runarounds stars William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zend Murdock, and Jesse Golliher joined together for the project. Lilah Pate, Hayes MacArthur, Shea Pritchard, Mark Wystrach, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, and Brooklyn Decker are all featured in the series.
Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, the creators of Outer Banks, are also executive producers of The Runaround. Josh Pate recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the selection process used to choose the actors and musicians who would eventually form the Runarounds:Within a week, 5,000 bands were given to us. If these youngsters have never had cameras in their faces before, I thought they would panic out.
Pate went on to say that although the Runarounds pilot was first filmed in 2022, the artists have since come together in real life.Numerous songs have been written by them. They recently performed at their first Charlotte festival. Now that they are out of high school, their musical abilities are completely legitimate. It’s fantastic.
Additionally, on September 1st, the official soundtrack will be released to coincide with the series’ premiere (pre-order HERE). The band’s first two songs, Senior Year (the first song written and produced by the real-life band) and Funny How The Universe Works (which was featured in the series trailer), are also currently accessible on streaming services.
