Portion of Highway 20 near Harriman State Park is closed due to ‘major traffic accident’

PARK ISLAND U.S. Highway 20 is closed Friday afternoon due to a collision near Harriman State Park.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office announced a significant traffic accident on Facebook shortly after noon. The Idaho Transportation Department’s s511 website states that the road is closed in both directions close to milepost 380 near Henrys Fork.

Regarding the closure, 511 advises drivers to drive carefully and be ready to stop.

There are no specifics available on the crash or the closure.

On the scene, emergency personnel are attempting to assist individuals in need. While they’re doing that, authorities ask the public not to phone dispatch.
