The American Fall On Sunday afternoon, police are responding to an ongoing situation in American Falls.
Around 3 p.m., the American Falls Police Department alerted the public to an incident occurring in the 700 Block of Fort Hall Avenue via a Facebook post.
There is a standoff, dispatchers told EastIdahoNews.com. No other information was given because it is currently taking place.
An armed man has barricaded himself inside a house, according to the Idaho State Journal. Earlier in the day, he allegedly shot a residence. Authorities claim he has refused to come out and believe he is inside alone.

Authorities are urging local residents to remain indoors in the interim.
Police warn in a Facebook post, “If you live on this block, stay in your home.” Remain away from the area. We’ll notify you as soon as the incident is resolved.
