Nampa man sentenced to life for child sexual abuse & exploitation

Idaho’s NAMPA Kenneth Ray Dial Jr., 42, of Nampa, was sentenced on Monday by Ada County District Judge Cynthia Yee-Wallace to life in prison with 65 years fixed for child exploitation and sexual assault.
The Nampa Police Department said in a press release that Dial was found guilty of both “creating and possessing doctored images and videos depicting minors in sexual acts” and child abuse.
Ada County and Canyon County agreed a global plea deal that led to the ensuing convictions.
A young victim and their sibling reported that Dial had been the source of ongoing sexual assault in June 2024. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the crimes by their mother. Dial was already being investigated for providing beer and marijuana to children in exchange for sex activities when they testified in June 2024.
Later, in August 2024, he was taken into custody at the Boise Airport. When officials confiscated Dial’s phone at the time of his arrest, they discovered thousands of illegal images of known children having sex.
With assistance from the Nampa Police Department, the Kuna Police conducted the investigation.
Dial pled guilty to six counts of lewd conduct with a minor, three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, five counts of possessing child sexually exploitative material, and two counts of creating child sexually exploitative material as part of the global plea agreement. All of these charges are felonies.
On August 26, Dial will be sentenced for his offenses in Canyon County. That case will be presided over by District Judge Randal K. Grove.
