INKOM Traffic has been backed up for miles Friday afternoon due to a collision in a one-lane construction zone over a bridge, and there is no indication when the road will reopen.
From mile markers 63 to 57, the southbound lanes on Interstate 15 close to Inkom are blocked.
Around 12:09 p.m., a semi-truck tried to change lanes on top of a bridge that was still under construction close to mile marker 57, according to Idaho State Police Lt. Todd Orr.
As traffic backed up, at least one more crash happened.

According to Orr, he doesn’t think anyone was taken from the area or suffered any major injuries.
“There is construction in the summer, and we’re usually backed up there just because of the heavy traffic going down to a single lane,” Orr adds. When they finally open it completely, cleaning it will take some time.
Idaho 511 advises drivers to anticipate delays and to think about using different routes.
