Mariah Carey doesn’t believe in time, including her birthday

(CNN) A timeless divadom has been fully embraced by Mariah Carey.

In a recent interview with UK radio station Capital FM, the celebrity singer stated that she doesn’t really recognize the passing of time. Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby, the show’s co-hosts, invited Carey to elaborate on her meaning.

She stated, “I simply don’t believe in it.”

When Stark inquired as to whether she was referring to time zones, Carey explained, “No, just time.”

That prompted Welby to ask a question.

No clocks, then? He inquired. Simply not interested in that?

“Yes,” Carey said. Let it go, please.

Evidently, Carey has let go clocks and the idea of celebrating her birthday.

No, she responded, I don’t have a birthday. Yes, anniversaries.

Carey has commemorated 56 anniversaries of orbiting the sun, for those of us on Mariah time.

In Carey’s perspective, calendars are OK for specific occasions, but without daily time markings, Stark questioned how she manages appointments and meets with other people.

Carey answered, “I would have someone call you and figure it out.”

It’s like that, to paraphrase one of her songs.
