DULL FALLS At milepost 176, close to Twin Falls, Idaho State Police responded to a collision involving two vehicles that resulted in fatalities on westbound Interstate 84.
An ISP news statement stated that the crash happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to troopers, a 50-year-old Twin Falls resident was operating a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on I-84.
On I-84, a 68-year-old Burley resident was also traveling west in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Among the passengers in the vehicle was a Burley woman, 72.
The Chevrolet pickup was hit by the Volkswagen Jetta, rolled off the road, and landed on the right shoulder of the road. According to ISP, the pickup’s driver passed away from their wounds at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the Jetta was not wearing a seatbelt when he was taken to a nearby hospital via air ambulance. All of the pickup’s passengers were buckled up.
For around three hours, Interstate 84’s westbound lanes were closed so that emergency personnel could help individuals in need.
