Man flown to hospital, another taken by ambulance following crash involving semi near Jerome

The news release from Idaho State Police is as follows.

JEROME near 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, a three-vehicle collision on Highway 93 near milepost 64, north of Jerome, resulted in injuries. Idaho State Police are looking into the incident.

A male Burley resident, age 41, was operating a 2023 Jeep Renegade north on Highway 93.

Two vehicles were heading south: a 1994 Peterbilt semi tractor, driven by a 28-year-old man from Wendell, and a 2005 Volkswagen Passat, driven by an 18-year-old man from Shoshone. When the Jeep Renegade struck the semi-trailer and Volkswagen, it was attempting to pass the semi.

An air ambulance was used to take the Jeep Renegade’s driver to a nearby hospital. A ground ambulance took the Volkswagen’s driver to a nearby hospital.

For around three hours, the route was closed.

Idaho State Police are investigating this crash.
