“We strive to host both family-friendly and over-18 events,” says Mer Riah Goodsell-Hall, co-president of Idaho Falls Pride. We’re making a concerted effort to support one another in this current environment.
According to Goodsell-Hall, this year’s celebrations will be bigger and better than ever before, with a great drag show for those who can attend and lots of entertaining vendors at the Pride festival.

According to Goodsell-Hall, the number of people who want to attend Pride and express their support has been quite amazing. All we want is for our community to feel normal and hopeful again.
“The most important thing at these events is safety,” adds Goodsell-Hall. Security personnel are present at every event, and the Pride festival has a first-aid tent and volunteer staff.

On Saturday, June 28, there will be a Pride Parade and Festival.
At 10 a.m., the march begins from the parking lot of the Universal Unitarian Church, which is situated at 55 East Street. Before heading back to the event on the Idaho Falls Greenbelt Riverwalk, north of the Idaho Falls Farmer’s Market, it will make its way to the Westbank Convention Center.
The Idaho Falls Greenbelt Stage will host musical acts all day long throughout the festival, which runs until 5 p.m.
According to Goodsell-Hall, pride is crucial, particularly to demonstrate to our younger generation that it’s acceptable to be who you are. I want to be the person that I didn’t have as a child and support the next generation.
