IDAHO GOES DOWN On Tuesday, residents will get the chance to interact with local law enforcement and its associated services.
Tautphaus Park, the green area next to Rogers Street and Fountain View Drive, will host the Idaho Falls Police Department’s annual National Night Out on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., the department said in a community-wide invitation on Friday.
According to a prepared statement released on Friday, the nationwide community-building initiative encourages neighborhood unity and police-community cooperation to make our communities safer and more compassionate places to live.
Idaho Falls Police officers expressed their want to interact with families and community people during the event.
The Patrol Bureau, SWAT squad, K9 unit, Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) squad, Idaho Falls Region 7 Bomb Squad, Emergency Communications Officers (dispatch), and other departments will also have representatives on hand.
Officers will also bring patrol cars, a SWAT vehicle, and other specialized equipment for show-and-tell, and the Crime Scene Investigations team will distribute Child ID Kits.
According to Friday’s statement, kids, families, and adults all enjoy the chance to interact with officers and get a close-up look at police cars and equipment. National Night Out consistently provides an excellent platform for learning, information exchange, and fostering relationships.
In communities all around the nation, police and occasionally other emergency professionals participate in National Night Out, which is customarily held on the first Tuesday in August.
