IDAHO GOES DOWN Make it the Idaho Falls Bandits’ seventh consecutive victory.
The Bandits defeated the Pocatello Runnin Rebels 12-2 and 8-2 in a conference doubleheader on Tuesday, fresh off winning the Josh Anderson Memorial Tournament in Reno this past weekend.
Idaho Falls scored four runs in the sixth inning to force a mercy rule to finish the opening game, which was all Bandits.
For the Bandits, Carter Bowen, Makai Ferguson, and Gavin Webb each scored two runs. Ferguson’s final score was 3 for 3.
With three scoreless innings, Brock Bowman, the starter, earned the victory.
Pocatello had two RBIs from Huston Himmerich.
With runs scored by Ferguson, Gavin Hernandez, and Webb in the first inning of Game 2, the Bandits (18-4) went out to a quick 3-0 lead.
In the fourth inning, Pocatello (10-6) got within 4-2, but the Bandits ended the game with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Anthony Morales scored two runs for the Bandits, and Webb finished with three RBIs.
Crew Scott threw five innings without allowing an earned run, earning the victory.
Only five singles were allowed for Pocatello.
