IDAHO GOES DOWN Executive Director Brandi Newton is leaving her position as head of the Idaho Falls Arts Council after over ten years in order to assume a senior position at The Bank of Commerce.
In order to establish Idaho Falls as a center for musical, dramatic, and educational activities in eastern Idaho, Newton has spent the last 12 years promoting and broadening the reach of the Willard Arts Center, Colonial Theater, and ARTitorium on Broadway.
According to Jason Littlefield, chairman of the board of the Idaho Falls Arts Council, Brandi has had a lasting impression on the city’s entertainment and artistic landscape. To say that she would be missed would be an understatement, but I am confident that the skills she will provide to The Bank of Commerce will be a great benefit to the bank’s staff and clients.
Newton will be The Bank of Commerce’s director of marketing and vice president. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
According to Mike Morrison, president and CEO of The Bank of Commerce, she was adored by both business leaders and customers, operated a prosperous nonprofit, and, most significantly, had a strong desire to help her community. She is a fantastic fit for our crew because of those kinds of qualities.
The board of the Arts Council has begun the process of finding Newton’s replacement and intends to appoint someone by the fall. Later this month will be her last day.
