BOISE, ID Boise State University has been listed as one of Idaho’s top 10 employers in Forbes Magazine’s Best Employers By State list for the second consecutive year.
Interim President Jeremiah Shinn stated, “We at Boise State are committed to fostering an environment where our students, faculty, and staff can flourish.” We take pride in being a university where staff members find fulfilling work that supports student achievement, builds community, and advances Idaho’s future.
The market research firm Statista collaborated with Forbes to conduct its yearly rankings, which are based on a nationwide poll of over 160,000 workers in companies with 500 or more employees. On a scale of 0 to 10, respondents—both current and past staff members as well as those who were acquainted with the university—were asked to rank and suggest employers based on factors like wage fairness, culture, prospects for growth, and responsiveness to grave concerns like harassment.
Boise State has now received this Forbes accolade three times in a row. The institution ranked 51st in the country and among America’s Best Midsize Employers in 2024, in addition to being one of the top ten employers in Idaho.
According to Katie Thomas, chief human resources officer, “Our HR team is committed to creating an environment where every employee can learn, grow, and succeed.” Employees are empowered to perform at their highest level when they feel encouraged and connected to our mission and to one other.
More than 6,000 full- and part-time faculty and staff members work at Boise State, where they enjoy a positive work atmosphere, a comprehensive benefits package, and an emphasis on the whole employee experience, which promotes welfare, teamwork, creativity, and professional development.
