IDAHO GOES DOWN On a dirt track near Idaho Falls, you can enjoy thrilling, competitive, and fast-paced automobile racing this weekend.

The Idaho Falls Raceway, located at 8433 West Arco Highway, is operated by the local nonprofit Snake River Stock Car Association. There will be a fan appreciation event this Saturday, August 16.

We’re looking forward to it. The nonprofit’s president, Travis Walker, stated that in addition to the auto racing, there will be a lot of other activities for the children to participate in.

Concessions, face painting, and bounce houses will all be available. To support the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, a raffle is being held. The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission will get half of the contributed funds from the raffle, while the other half will be given away to a spectator. This is known as a 50/50 raffle.

Additionally, there is a canned food drive. You can get $1 off regular entry with one can. ($1 discount per person is the limit).

Children’s go-kart racing kicks off the event at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., the cars go racing. Walker stated that as the evening wears on, the number of heat races increases in excitement.

People often associate race cars with the four-cylinder vehicles they see at fairs. “No,” he responded, “we have fast cars out there.”

During intermission, there will be a meet-and-greet on the front stretch.

All of our drivers are invited to bring their vehicles out, and everyone in the stands is invited to come and go around the racetrack, greet the drivers, and get their signatures, Walker added. They distribute signed pictures, sweets, and many items. It’s truly amazing to witness.

In addition to many drivers from nearby states like Utah and Montana, many local drivers also take part.

We’ll get a lot of people out there since there will be a good hundred cars in the pits, he said.

Walker grew up racing cars in Utah, he told EastIdahoNews.com. When he was eighteen, he began competing. He is still racing at the age of nearly forty-five.

It has a lot of qualities that I adore. The people you meet, the sights, the smells, and the things you discover along the road, Walker said.

He extends an invitation to anybody in the neighborhood who have never visited the Idaho Falls Raceway to do so this weekend.

“Come have some fast-paced, dirt-slinging fun with the whole family,” Walker added.

From June to the end of September, the Idaho Falls Raceway normally has races every other Saturday during the summer. There are about 700 seats available at the site.

Adults (ages 13 to 64) pay $13 for general admission, seniors (ages 65 and up) pay $8, active duty, veterans, and National Guard members pay $8, children (6–12) pay $6, and children under five enter free. Also approved is the GetOutPass.
