POCATELLO A new retail site is now home to a variety of swimming and crawling species, both old and new.

The exotic pet shop Aquatic Oasis, which was formerly located in the Pine Ridge Mall, has relocated to 310 South 4th Street. Early in June, the store was completely operational.

We managed to make it work, even though it was a close call. Co-owner Ross Gregersen says, “We think it’s going to help being on this side of town.”

Aquatic Oasis is a pet shop that sells a range of creatures, including freshwater and saltwater marine life, amphibians, and reptiles. It also serves as a reefing business. This is the practice of a fish tank owner cultivating their own coral reef, which is a living thing as well.

In order to raise money for the store’s relocation out of the mall, Gregersen started a GoFundMe campaign with the encouragement of many of the customers who were interested in reefing. It brought in almost $3,000.

According to Gregersen, a large portion of money was spent on food and staff care. That really aided in ensuring that they could continue to assist and be a part of the squad.

In 2022, Aquatic Oasis debuted in the Pine Ridge Mall. A large portion of the mall has been demolished to provide room for a brand-new outdoor shopping complex designed by Arizona-based commercial real estate company SimonCRE.

Gregersen has a lot of nostalgia for the current location because it used to be the home of Great American Video, even if he thought the mall was the ideal spot at the time. He is appreciative of the retailers’ proprietors for letting them move in ahead of schedule.

Gregersen stated that they wanted us to succeed, which is a major reason we’re here.

They have been able to add what Gregersen refers to as higher-quality brands and increase the store’s product line by 30% thanks to the additional space in the new facility.

What we carry will be how we set ourselves apart from other pet shops. Gregersen expressed his hope that more inventory would be easily accessible to anyone who wishes to improve their pet’s life.
