Caldwell, Idaho A Caldwell man was found guilty of having hundreds of files containing evidence of child sexual abuse and was given a prison sentence.
Three charges of sexual exploitation of a child by possession of sexually exploitative material were brought against 43-year-old Jacob Taylor. Senior District Judge Michael Reardon gave Taylor a 15-year jail term on July 28, 2025, with the possibility of release after four years. According to Idaho law, he must additionally register as a sex offender.
The investigation started in the fall of 2024 after a CyberTip was sent to the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, revealing that 68 files of suspected child sexual abuse content had been uploaded by an account connected to Taylor. On February 5, 2025, investigators carried out a search warrant at Taylor’s home.
Later, more than 300 files arranged in folders on Taylor’s electronic devices were found by forensic analysts from the Idaho Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Ral Labrador stated that every arrest and conviction our staff secures in these extremely upsetting instances contributes to the safety of Idaho communities. Our goal is to safeguard Idaho families and hold these perpetrators accountable, and I’m proud of the ongoing efforts of our ICAC investigators, prosecutors, and local law enforcement partners throughout the state.
ICAC Investigator Lauren Lane and her K-9 partner, Badger, were in charge of the investigation. The Boise Police Department, Idaho State Police, Nampa Police Department, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations were among the agencies that provided assistance in this case. James Haws, the Deputy Attorney General, prosecuted the case.
