In the days ahead, rodeo fans can expect to see some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in the nation visit Idaho Falls thanks to a huge payoff of over $100,000.
I had the opportunity to meet some of the people who will contribute to the glitz and glamour under the arena lights on Wednesday, even though it’s still a little secret who will be riding and roping (and in some cases, running for cover).
I’ve put together a list.
Even though I’ve never hit a cow or ridden a bull, I did receive my Horsemanship merit badge a few decades back. Additionally, I think I may still recall how to saddle a very gentle horse—one that maybe goes up and down and circles while calliope music plays in the background.
In any case, I am incredibly respectful of the men and women who have taken this authentically American way of life and turned it into something that we in eastern Idaho can enjoy.
