After police chase, Caldwell man arrested for allegedly firing gun at home

Officers responded to a complaint of gunfire at approximately 11 p.m. and discovered that a residence had been hit by bullets, according to a news release from the Caldwell Police Department. According to authorities, the suspect, a 68-year-old man, had stalked the intended female victim who lived there.

According to the release, they found that individual at his home, where he climbed into his pickup vehicle, disregarded police orders, and left the area. When cops stopped the suspect’s truck using a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) move close to East Ustick Road and South Kimball Avenue, the chase came to an end.

According to the release, an officer was hurt and the vehicle was damaged when the officer’s vehicle veered off the road during the PIT maneuver. According to the release, the officer was taken to a hospital, given treatment, and then discharged.

Additionally, the report stated that the suspect’s vehicle impacted and damaged another officer’s patrol car.
