FBI raids former Trump adviser John Bolton’s home in classified documents probe

According to a source who spoke to Scripps News on Friday, the FBI raided the residence of former National Security Advisor John Bolton as part of an investigation into national security.

The insider claims that the raid has something to do with classified documents, including the potential for theft and unapproved storage of those documents. The raid, according to the source, happened as FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on the social media site X: “NO ONE is above the law @FBI agents on mission.”

From 2018 to 2019, Bolton was the national security adviser to President Donald Trump.

Bolton has become an outspoken opponent of Trump since leaving the White House. The government and he had a falling out over his memoir, “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.”

Bolton allegedly tried to prevent the book’s publication and placed secret material in it, according to the Trump administration.

On Friday morning, President Trump responded to the news.

“John Bolton doesn’t appeal to me. “He’s a real low life,” declared President Trump. “He might be a really disloyal person. We’ll find out, after all. I have no knowledge about it. I only noticed it this morning. They carried out a raid.

Later in the day, President Trump stated, he anticipated receiving a briefing on the raid.

Vice President JD Vance stated that the raid had no political motivations on “Meet the Press” on NBC News.

“We are investigating Amb. Bolton, but if they ultimately bring a case, it will be because they determine that he has broken the law,” he stated. “We will exercise caution in that regard. Because we don’t believe that we should throw people in jail arbitrarily, even if they disagree with us politically, or perhaps even more so if they disagree with us politically, we’re going to be intentional about it. You ought to allow the law make these decisions, and we are doing just that.”
