Idaho’s Boise In order to raise money for veterans in need, the Ride for the Fallen will take cyclists on a 160-mile loop through the Idaho Rockies.

At the Boise VA, we met up with the Combat Veterans Association, who delivered thousands of dollars worth of food for the food bank. They do it four times a year as one of their numerous efforts to support other veterans.

Chapter commander Todd Hayes stated, “We assist people with rent, utilities, auto payments, or anything else they fall behind on, if they need our help, that’s what we do.” “It’s awesome, there is no better feeling in the world.”

I’ve heard enough of these tales to know that soldiers and motorcycles make for a strong bond. Although owning a 500 CC motorcycle and being a veteran are prerequisites for joining the group, riding offers a means of communication for veterans.

“Everyone of us joined this group because we wanted someone to ride with that thought like we did,” Hayes added. “We are all veterans, so we get to joke around with everyone in a way that you wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.”

However, registration opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and anyone is welcome to come out and bike. As riders traverse two-lane highways and mountain passes on the Lowman Loop, they will experience a unique trip along Highways 55, 21, and the Banks Lowman Road.

According to Tracy Tessar, “Idaho offers so many beautiful places to ride,” “The temperature fluctuates with elevation, and you truly don’t comprehend the scents that Idaho has to offer. One minute you’ll be perspiring, and the next you’ll think, ‘That’s a great cool breeze.'”

One of the club’s most significant fundraisers of the year, the ride begins at High Desert Harley Davidson in Meridian and offers the opportunity for anybody to ride in memory of a loved one.

Tessar stated, “I carry a list of everyone I ride for,” I consider them to be my guardian angels, and I need as many of them as possible, for heaven’s sake.
