Southern Idaho Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in Hotel Shooting

IDA, NAMPA The Nampa Police Department has charged a 33-year-old man with first-degree murder in connection with the August 8 shooting death in a motel parking lot.

After hearing indications of a potential gunshot, officers arrived at the 4100 block of East Flamingo at around 9:10 a.m. They discovered a man adult dead from several gunshot wounds when they got there.

With help from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police, Boise Police were able to track down and arrest the suspect, Saengutone Ty Maria of Nampa, after he fled the scene. According to authorities, as the investigation progresses, further charges might be brought.

The victim’s name will be made public later by the Canyon County Coroner’s Office.

The community members who gave descriptions of the culprit and his car, which aided in his apprehension, were thanked by Nampa Police.
