Clarkston, Washington Following his arrest last Friday at Chief Timothy Park, where police allegedly found a handgun and stolen goods connected to a recent Clarkston burglary, a man is being charged with several felonies.

Court filings state that 48-year-old Scott E. Teuscher was taken into custody by an Asotin County Sheriff’s Deputy on August 8 at around 8:20 p.m., following deputies’ response to allegations of a disorderly man hurling objects and shouting at the park. Officers were informed that the man was connected to a white Ford Fusion and fit the description of a suspect in multiple recent burglaries in Clarkston.

When deputies found the car, they reported spotting a knife sheath and a pistol magazine inside the vehicle. Teuscher was discovered close by. According to court documents, Teuscher acknowledged that he was prohibited from lawfully possessing weapons and was on felony probation. He did, however, allegedly admit to deputies that he was carrying a rifle to defend himself against a bear attack.

Just a few steps from where Teuscher was first contacted, deputies claim to have discovered a 45-caliber handgun among Teuscher’s possessions, wrapped inside a shirt. Teuscher was verified as a convicted offender by a criminal history check. On Friday, he was charged with first-degree unauthorized possession of a handgun and placed into the Asotin County Jail.

Teuscher was charged with new offenses by Clarkston Police on Saturday in relation to a store burglary that occurred on August 8 in the 500 block of 3rd Street in Clarkston. A debit card, an old clock, tools, and other items were reported missing by the owner.

Investigators claim that early on August 8, surveillance footage from a nearby company captured a man who fit Teuscher’s description in the area. Allegedly, a pair of shoes discovered among Teuscher’s possessions matched shoe prints at the scene. At the time of Teuscher’s arrest, police reportedly reported finding Andrew’s tools, clock, and debit card on his premises.

In addition to the weapons charge, Teuscher is charged with two counts of second-degree theft, second-degree burglary, and second-degree possession of stolen items. On Monday, he showed up for court. The bond amount was $20,000.
