Pullman, Washington Beginning Monday, U.S. Highway 195 near Pullman will see traffic delays Monday through Friday for several weeks due to repaving.The local business Poe Asphalt has been contracted by the Washington State Department of Transportation to resurface nine miles of US195 between Babbitt Road and State Route 27 on the south end of Pullman North. While guardrail construction will be done during the day, the paving will be done at night.
In order to ensure worker safety, WSDOT officials stated that daytime and evening operations has resulted in 24/7 traffic delays. One lane of traffic will be guided through one-mile work zones by temporary stoplights. Drivers may experience delays of up to fifteen minutes. Weekends and the Labor Day holiday will not be affected.
Late September is when the 3.5 million dollar repaving project is expected to be finished. At first, WSDOT officials misinformed the public that the traffic delays would only occur at night.
