Shooter who killed 4 in NYC claimed he had CTE, blamed NFL

According to investigators, a shooter who killed four people, including a New York City police officer, at a Manhattan office building Monday night was allegedly targeting offices of the National Football League.

On the 33rd story of the building at 345 Park Ave, the suspect, Shane Tamura of Las Vegas, also shot himself in the chest and died.

According to police, a note discovered on Tamura’s body might provide insight into his motivation.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated, “In that note, Mr. Tamura claimed to be suffering from CTE, possibly from playing high school football, and blamed the NFL.” He writes, ‘Study my brain,’ too. I apologize.

According to Tisch, Tamura also brought up a documentary regarding CTE-affected NFL players.

On Tuesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called the incident an unimaginable act of brutality and accepted it. According to him, an NFL employee was gravely hurt in the incident but is currently stable and in the hospital.

“We believe that all of our employees are otherwise safe and accounted for, and the building has nearly been cleared,” Goodell stated in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded to this threat quickly and decisively and to Officer Islam, who gave his life to protect others.”Tisch described the events of Monday night, stating that security footage showed Tamura carrying an M4 weapon as he got out of a black BMW on Park Avenue between 51st and 52nd streets. As soon as he stepped into the foyer of the building, he started shooting, first the cop and then a woman hiding behind a pillar.

As he proceeded into the lobby, he shot a security guard close to the bank of elevators. Despite being shot, a fourth person lived.

Tisch claimed that after letting a woman get out of an elevator without getting hurt, Tamura rode it to the 33rd floor. There, he passed past Rudin Management’s offices and fired more shots. Before Tamura shot himself to death, one person was slain on that floor.

According to Las Vegas law enforcement, Tamura has a history of mental illness. According to reports, he was a security guard at the hotel and casino known as the Horseshoe Las Vegas. Tisch claimed he didn’t show up for work on Sunday night.

She pointed out that before reaching New York City, Tamura’s car had driven across the nation. Before it entered the city, it was traced via Colorado on July 26, Nebraska and Iowa on July 27, and New Jersey on Monday.

NYPD OFFICER FALLEN

Officer Islam was hailed as a hero by New York Mayor Eric Adams on Monday night.

According to Adams, he is the epitome of what this city is all about. His love of the city and his spirit make him a true blue New Yorker, even down to the outfit he wore.

The greatest of our department was embodied by Police Officer Didarul Islam. His life was sadly cut short today while he was defending New Yorkers from harm.In this moment of unfathomable suffering, we join in prayer. We shall always pay tribute to his legacy.vkBZetsz2N https://twitter.com/FidelisAdMortempic

According to Adams, Islam was a Bangladeshi immigrant assigned to the 47th Precinct who had been with the force for over three years. He has two young sons and was married. According to Tisch, his wife is expecting their third kid.

President Donald Trump, who is scheduled to return from a trip to Europe on Tuesday, also expressed his condolences and said he had been briefed on the event.

He posted on hisTruth Social platform, saying, “I trust our Law Enforcement Agencies to get to the bottom of why this crazed lunatic committed such a senseless act of violence.” “The families of the four individuals deceased, including the NYPD officer who gave his life, have my deepest sympathies. May God bless both New York and the New York Police Department!
