Warrior Men’s Golf Trio Earns GCAA Academic Honors

Okay, Norman The GCAA announced on Tuesday that three Lewis-Clark State men’s golfers were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2024–25 school year.

Luke West received the distinction for the first time in his career, while Oscar Behle and Alex Navarro received it again.

Coach Zach Anderson said there was more academic success to be proud of. I am incredibly proud of these people and the efforts they make both on and off the course. The fact that these student-athletes received this honor is evidence of their everyday efforts. Being surrounded by wonderful people is a blessing.

A person must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in both academics and athletics to be considered for a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination. They also need to maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2, have a stroke average of 78.0, and compete in 50% of their team’s rounds. Additionally, a recipient needs to be in good standing at their school and possess a strong moral code.

With a perfect 4.0 GPA and a business management degree at the end of her two-year tenure, Behle was named to the All-Cascade Conference for the second consecutive year. He played CCC with an average score of 74.4.

Navarro studies sport management and keeps his GPA at 3.42. He finished his playing career on a high note by being named to the GCAA PING All-West Region and winning All-CCC for the second consecutive year. He had two solo victories and a season-long average score of 72.7.

In his first season of eligibility, West, who was studying business administration, achieved the accolade with a 3.71 GPA. In his sophomore season, he shot 76.5.
