Garden City kidnapping suspect located and arrested by Meridian Police

Daniel Aitchison was taken into custody by Meridian Police at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday following his alleged kidnapping of a person on Tuesday morning.
Aitchison will be arraigned at the Ada County Courthouse on July 24 at 1:30 p.m.___
In order to find a kidnapping suspect who reportedly forced a victim into a car on Tuesday morning, Garden City Police are requesting the public’s assistance.
Around 2:00 p.m., officers were called to a report of kidnapping in the Sawyer 5100 block. When they arrived, they discovered that the suspect was still at large and the victim had escaped.
The victim was stolen from a company parking lot at approximately nine in the morning, according to investigators. Daniel Aitchison, the culprit, is accused of forcing the victim into his car by threatening them with a weapon.
Police claim that Aitchison had the victim driving around the region for several hours before bringing him back to the scene of the kidnapping.
The victim eventually managed to get away, fleeing into a nearby establishment where employees contacted the police and offered safety. Aitchison has not been found yet after leaving the area in his car.
Aitchison is charged with several felonies, including second-degree kidnapping, first-degree stalking, felon in possession of a handgun, and using a firearm in the commission of a crime. Authorities have issued a nationwide warrant for his arrest.
According to Garden City Police, Aitchison is a white man who weighs around 220 pounds and is 6 feet 1 inch tall. He has green eyes and gray and brown hair.
