Lewiston, Idaho On Monday, July 28, 2025, the City of Lewiston Public Works Department will start a wastewater rehabilitation project close to the intersection of 16th Avenue and 16th Street.
Depending on site conditions and weather, the project, which will center on restoring an existing sanitary sewage main, should take around three weeks to complete.
What Residents Can Expect:
-
Hours of operation: 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
-
Lane Reductions: During construction, 16th Avenue’s traffic lanes between 13th Street and 17th Street will be condensed.
-
Street Access: Throughout the construction zone, a few access routes to 16th Avenue will be temporarily blocked.
-
Impact on Traffic: Although 16th Avenue will stay open, there will likely be less traffic, particularly during rush hour.
-
Local Access Maintained: Local traffic will continue to be able to reach all properties within the project area.
-
Large Vehicles: Due to narrower lane widths, traffic from oversized and large trucks is recommended to take detours.
