Body of Missing Wenatchee Man Found Near Saddle Rock

WENATCHEE, WA – The Wenatchee Police Department has confirmed that 24-year-old Dylan Smarro was found deceased near the Saddle Rock area, following an extensive search.

Smarro had been reported missing on July 13 after he left work that morning and did not return home—an unusual occurrence, according to his family. That evening, his unoccupied vehicle was discovered at the Saddle Rock Trailhead, prompting concern for his welfare.

Surveillance footage showed Smarro walking from the trailhead parking lot toward Saddle Rock around 11:40 a.m. Saturday. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, a dark-colored hat, shoes, and carrying a black backpack. Authorities noted that, given the current weather conditions and his attire, he did not appear equipped for an extended stay outdoors.

Search efforts were focused on the Saddle Rock area and the surrounding hills. The community was asked to contact the police with any information. On Monday, July 15, Wenatchee Police announced that Smarro had been located deceased in the area.

His family has been notified. Officials have asked the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact Wenatchee Police or RiverCom at 509-663-9911, referencing case number 25W10969.
