IDAHO GOES DOWN After police received a call reporting that a man and woman had been assaulted with a metal rod in a shed, a 44-year-old male was taken into custody Tuesday evening.
Gregory Alan Davis faces one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest and two felonies of aggravated violence.
A call regarding a disturbance near the 2000 North block of 5th West was received at approximately 6 p.m., according to the news release issued by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the announcement, deputies were informed that Davis was using a metal rod to attack two people while intoxicated.
Dispatchers reported hearing phone cries for assistance and a man describing blood all over the place.
A woman was discovered bleeding from the head on the ground when deputies arrived.
According to a man deputies spoke with, Davis approached the woman, grabbed her head, and began beating her while he was still speaking to her. Then Davis shifted his focus to the man and began to assault him.
According to the announcement, Davis allegedly threw metal car parts at the two during the confrontation and struck the woman in the head with a metal rod.
Before deputies could arrive, Davis left the area. According to the news release, he attempted to flee after being discovered trying to hide under a tree on the property. After a brief altercation during which deputies told the man to stop, Davis was tased.
After being arrested, Davis was checked into the Bonneville County Jail.
It is not a given that Davis committed these offenses, even if he has been charged with them. Until someone is proven guilty, they are all presumed innocent. He faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in jail if convicted.
