IDAHO GOES DOWN Two local family are hoping that your familiarity with Disney will help them earn $12,000 for the American Cancer Society by September.
To raise money and awareness for cancer research, Gray Augustus, Dusty Bee, and their families are planning a trivia challenge night called The Crown of Knowledge, Disney Trivia Adventure.
Augustus claims that the families engage in an annual custom in which they select a charity to support and raise funds for it over the course of a year.
After facing the sickness in their own lives, the families made the decision to support the American Cancer Society this year.
“I have experienced bladder cancer myself,” Augustus explains. My wife’s aunt also received a cancer diagnosis and has been undergoing chemotherapy. In fact, we lost a coworker to cancer at my place of employment. It was one of those things that many of us had dealt with before.
According to Bee, the choice to fund cancer research in 2025 was influenced by the recent death of his father from cancer in October.
According to Bee, every penny you pay to enter will go straight to the American Cancer Society.
In addition to hosting a quiz night, the families are holding a raffle with prizes including a $50 gift card to Farr’s Candy, a free family trip to Disneyland, a year’s worth of soda from Soda Tsunami, free clothes from Ferrell’s Fine Clothing, and more.
Additionally, their children are contributing in their own ways by organizing other fundraisers and running the races with their fathers.
“Our children have become involved,” Augustus explains. Additionally, my daughter raises money for the charity by selling plants. We’re hoping to raise $12,000 by September, and as of right now, our fundraising total is only around $7,000.
The MC Theater at ARTitorium on Broadway will host the trivia event on July 23 at 6:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets in advance here for $15 each.
According to Augustus, anyone can enjoy Disney even if they are not an extreme fan. All ages are welcome to attend this family-friendly event.
