The American Fall After a confrontation with police in American Falls on Sunday afternoon, a guy has been taken into custody.
Brandon Wilkinson, the chief of the American Falls Police Department, tells EastIdahoNews.com that the incident began at 12:30 p.m. when a man called 911 to report that the suspect had left his home at 745 Fort Hall Avenue. According to reports, the suspect—later identified as American Falls resident Billie Palmer, 58—pointed a revolver at the man and fired two shots at the ground.

Palmer locked himself inside the house by himself after the man had left. It was unclear why he did what he did.
Authorities began bargaining with him over the phone after several departments responded. Wilkinson claims that the conversation included friends, caregivers, and clerics.
According to Wilkinson, Palmer would periodically open the door, toss guns outside, and then return inside during the ordeal.
Eventually, police busted a glass and tossed a cell phone inside, hoping Palmer would pick it up and carry on the conversation. Law officers utilized a Bear Cat tactical vehicle to force the door open after several attempts failed to elicit a response.
Palmer was unconscious on the floor as they entered.
Palmer was arrested by police on a felony allegation of aggravated assault.
Palmer will be checked into the Bannock County Jail following his treatment at Portneuf Medical Center.
According to Wilkinson, a news release with more details will be issued on Monday.
