Utah’s MAGNA (KSL.com) A Magna man is charged with a crime after allegedly persuading a teenage girl with autism to visit his home and then attempting to persuade her to undress.
John Maez, 41, was charged with kidnapping, a second-degree crime, in 3rd District Court on Thursday.
According to charge documents, a 14-year-old girl who functions at the level of a 10-year-old failed to get home from school on time in September, and it was unclear if she had actually gone to school.
According to the allegations, the teenager claimed to have found a job babysitting in order to earn money for food after being found. A man who was later identified as John Maez pulled up in his truck and asked (her) if she wanted to earn some money while she was out walking, according to (she).
The allegations claim that after she got to his house, she drank some vodka, watched a movie, and ate an entire chicken. She refused to remove her clothes when Maez requested her to. Police eventually discovered her at a nearby restaurant after she had fled the house.
Maez allegedly acknowledged to police questioning that he had seen the girl strolling down the street and had invited her to his house to babysit for pay.
