IDAHO GOES DOWN A local theater has revealed its schedule for the upcoming season, which includes five distinct productions.
At a black tie event on Monday night, the Center Stage Theatre in Idaho Falls unveiled the 2026 shows. A few musical numbers from each production were shown in advance.
Center Stage is presenting Guys and Dolls in the winter to begin the fourth season of entertainment. This iconic musical takes place in New York City in the early 1950s. It will take place between February 13 and March 28.
The Sound of Music is scheduled to arrive between April 24 and June 6 in the spring. Julie Andrews starred in the 1960s film, which had hits like “My Favorite Things.”
Shrek: the Musical will be released in the summer. The popular DreamWorks animated movie served as its inspiration. It will take place between July 10 and August 22.
It’s frightening, wacky, and creepy. From September 18 to October 31, the Addams Family will be visiting in the fall, just in time for Halloween.
We have been putting a lot of effort into obtaining certain shows. We have been working on that one for a few years, so we are quite happy to present The Addams Family. According to Chandler Dye of Center Stage Theatre, it’s a popular in southeast Idaho.
From November 25 to December 23, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be the holiday musical. The rerun of this particular production will occur every three years.
We are thrilled to be returning with our first repeat performance at Center Stage Theatre, A Christmas Carol, and it will be fantastic. “It’s going to be a magical season,” Dye added, adding that audiences adored it.
Since the theater’s opening in 2023, Dye said, community support has been positive.
According to Dye, we went from having well-selling shows to practically all of them selling out.
Fiddler on the Roof, the most recent, has been among the most popular thus far. The current season still has several shows to view. Hairspray will be available from July 11 to August 23. Elf and School of Rock are also available.
