IDAHO GOES DOWN Three people have been taken into custody and charged with felony methamphetamine trafficking as well as various petty narcotics offenses in eastern Idaho.

POCATELLO

On May 22, Savonte Michael Randolph was charged with felony methamphetamine trafficking and misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Randolph faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life in prison if found guilty.

A gray Ford F-150 was stopped by an Idaho State Police trooper on Interstate 15 close to milepost 72 in Pocatello on May 22, according to court filings.

The trooper claimed that the driver—later identified as Randolph—had received a speeding ticket, but that the truck smelled of marijuana.

Randolph said that he had come from Colorado and claimed there was no marijuana in the truck when the trooper asked him how much of it there was.

According to the affidavit, Randolph insisted on telling the trooper that there was no marijuana and that someone else had smoked inside the truck before, even though he didn’t smoke.

After asking Randolph to open the glove box, the trooper asked whether he would be willing to take part in a field sobriety test. He was willing to do so, the man said.

According to the affidavit, the trooper informed Randolph that there was sufficient reasonable cause to search the truck and Randolph once he exited the vehicle.

After testing, the vape pen the trooper discovered tested positive for THC.

Two black duffle bags and a take-out bag containing a white substance were found in the truck during the search.

According to the statement, Randolph acknowledged to the trooper that the vape pen contained THC in addition to meth.

After testing, the white material proved positive for methamphetamine. The methamphetamine weighed 479.9 grams in total.

Randolph will appear before Magistrate Judge Scott Axline for a preliminary hearing on June 24 at 1:15 p.m.

CEDRON

Two people accused of felony methamphetamine trafficking were arrested Monday morning following the execution of a search warrant.

Adam Jared Reid was charged with two misdemeanor possession charges for a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as criminal trafficking of methamphetamine and felony possession of a controlled substance.

Meghann Anne Wagoner was charged with the same misdemeanor offenses as Reid and felony methamphetamine trafficking.

Both Reid and Wagoner could spend at least three years or even their entire lives behind bars if found guilty.

The Teton County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that the search warrant was executed around 6:30 a.m. at a house in Cedron, Idaho, close to Henderson Canyon.

Five bags of a mushroom-like substance, two bags of a crystalline substance, and a green leafy substance were found during the home search, according to court filings. There were also numerous bongs, pipes, vapes, and trays discovered.

The crystalline material weighed 186.9 grams and had tested positive for methamphetamine. The mushrooms weighed 125.8 grams and had a positive psilocybin test.

The weight of the green leafy item is not specified in the documents, but it tested positive for marijuana.

According to the affidavit, Wagoner said during the interview that Reid owned the methamphetamine but that she had also used part of it.

Deputies discovered a THC vape pen on Wagoner’s person when she was brought to the Bonneville County Jail. The vape’s marijuana test came up positive.

Magistrate Judge Jason Walker has set a pre-trial hearing for Reid and Wagoner for July 2 at 1:30 p.m.

Despite being charged with these offenses, Randolph, Reid, and Wagoner are not necessarily guilty of them. Until someone is proven guilty, they are all presumed innocent.
