JEROME A two-vehicle deadly collision on U.S. Highway 93 close to milepost 63 north of Jerome is being looked into by Idaho State Police.
On Thursday, July 3, about 10 p.m., a 27-year-old Jerome man was traveling south on US 93 in a 2005 Ford Explorer. A 20-year-old Peruvian woman was driving a 2012 Dodge Journey north on US 93 with a 41-year-old Peruvian passenger. The Dodge Journey and the Ford Explorer collided as the Explorer veered into the northbound lanes.
The Ford’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
The other passenger in the Dodge Journey died at the site of the collision after suffering critical injuries, while the driver and a minor passenger were airlifted.
Everybody in the car was buckled up.
For over five hours, both lanes were shut.
Magic Valley Paramedics, Jerome Rural Fire, and the Jerome County Sheriff Office provided assistance to Idaho State Police.
The Idaho State Police are still investigating this event.
